Philosophy
We aim to provide an enjoyable and positive environment where children can develop skills and behaviours that will benefit them not only during childhood but also in later life.
Our classes
Our weekly class provides a non-competitive environment, where children can learn a martial art at their own pace. We believe, through experience, that regular training in this supportive environment will result in improvements in fitness, resilience, discipline and self-confidence. As a martial arts class we expect students to adhere to set rules of courtesy and behaviour, demonstrating respect not only to the instructors but also their fellow students.

Training
Each hour long session will begin with a structured warm up involving dynamic stretching and exercises that prepare students for the demands of the class to follow, whilst simultaneously developing physical fitness and strength. Class content will vary, but will include learning technique through individual and paired drills, controlled light contact sparring, pad striking drills and syllabus work.
Progression
The system follows a structured syllabus that provides a framework for consistent progress and development of understanding. Students, when the instructor feels they are ready, will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in gradings that are held every 3 months.
What to wear?
Initially, you may train in loose pants and a T-shirt. Jewellery should not be worn and those items which cannot be removed (e.g. rings) should be taped over. Those with long hair should have it tied up. We generally train barefoot.
After a few sessions, if you decide to continue, then system uniform is available from head office.
